Join fellow Arrowmen from around the Northeast Region for an intense seminar weekend that explores the integral skills of leadership. The Northeast Region is hosting is first National Lodge Advisers Training Seminar (NLATS) of 2008 this March 28-30 at Alpine Scout Camp, NJ. The NLATS is a weekend seminar specifically designed for lodge level advisers that focuses on the skills and attributes of effective lodge advisers. For more information or to sign up, click here.

SOUTHLAKE, TX - On Friday, December 28th, Patrick Rooney, Section Chief of NE-4C, was elected the 2008 Northeast Region Chief.

Patrick is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Amangamek-Wipit Lodge of the National Capital Area Council. He has previously served as Section Vice Chief, Lodge Chief, Chapter Chief, Lodge Ceremonies Chairman and, Chairman for the 2005 Presidential Inauguration. In 2006 he received the Founder’s Award. Patrick attended the 2004 NOAC as well as the 2005 Jamboree and staffed the 2006 NOAC and 2007 NCLS. He attends George Mason University where he is currently pursuing a degree in Government and International Politics.

SOUTHLAKE, TX - On Thursday, December 27th, elections were held for the offices of National Chief and National Vice Chief for 2008, and, on Friday, December 28th, elects were held for the office of Region Chief within each region. Congratulations to the following people on their elections:

Jake Wellman, the 2008 National Chief

Jake Wellman, the Section W-5A Chief, has been elected as the 2008 National Chief.

Jake is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was inducted and became a Brotherhood member of Ini-to Lodge in Georgia. Jake is a Senior at Cibola High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is a member of Yah-tah-hey-si-kess Lodge. Congratulations Jake!

Ben Stilwill, the 2008 National Vice Chief

Ben Stilwill, the Section C-2B Chief, has been elected as the 2008 National Vice Chief.

Ben is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member from Okemos, MI and is a freshman at Depauw University. He was the Lodge Chief of Gabe-Shi-Win-Gi-Kens and served 2 terms as a Section Chief for the Central Region. In addition, he served as the Summit Vice Chief of Gatherings at the 2007 National Conservation and Leadership Summit. Congratulations Ben!

The Northeast Region’s “Where to go Camping” online database has just been made available! The Order of the Arrow in the Northeast Region has been pleased to have been given the opportunity to assist in the updating the Northeast Region directory of local council camps and outdoor facilities. This directory has been prepared to assist Scouting Leaders with their planning of a varied, interesting, and educational year-round program of camping and outdoor facilities. The Northeast Region’s ArrowCorps5 patch is available to order! It was designed to recognize the Northeast Region’s preparation for ArrowCorps5 by participation in the 2007 National Order of the Arrow National Conservation and Leadership Summit this past summer at Indiana University. The patch is an eleven color, four by three inch rectangular shape with pocket loop celebrating the 2007 NCLS and 2008 ArrowCorps5 theme. It is sure to become a valuable addition to any OA memorabilia collection.Click here for more information.
