Dave is an active Scouter in not one but two different Scout Troops where he serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He has been an Assistant Scoutmaster for over 25 years. In Troop 215 in Bethel Park, Dave works on the team that maintains the merit badge database for the 80 member Troop. in addition, Dave attends Summer Camp at Heritage Reservation giving willingly of his time and talents and is an active merit badge counselor. Dave has successfully completed the wood badge training and is fully trained as an adult leader.
Dave is also an active member of the Order Of The Arrow faithfully attending Lodge events and helping out with the kitchen crew to prepare meals. It is not unusual for Dave to take a vacation day from work to assist with the preparation necessary to open some of our remote camp kitchens. In addition, Dave actively participates in Eagle service projects with Troop 215.
Dave has supported the principles of the scouting mission long before his son became involved in Scouting and will continue to be involved for the years to come. When a task presents itself, Dave never hesitates to volunteer. It is this unwavering service to the principles of Scouting that make Dave most worthy of the Vigil Honor.
