Zachary Gass

Zachary started Scouts at the age of eight. He earned numerous pins and the Arrow Of Light before crossing over into Boy Scout Troop 83 at the age of 11. During his 5+ years in Troop 83, Zachary has gone from Scout to Life and is presently working on his Eagle. Zachary has worked at Cub Scout Summer Camp for the past four years. Some of the Scout service projects he has been involved include Scouting For Food, cleaning up Baker Trail, and cleaning up a local park. He is trained and certified in CPR, along with wilderness First Aid. He was tapped out for the Order Of The Arrow in 2003, and has completed his Brotherhood. Zachary has helped with several fall ceremonials and is always eager to volunteer as much as possible.

Zachary is a member of the native American Dance Team Venture Crew. He is a grass dancer and goes to dance shows and pow-wows. He has competed in several competitions. This past Summer he went to NOAC in Michigan and helped the team place third in the nation on the drum.

Outside of Scouting, Zachary is active in his church. He is a member of the choir, attends the adult Bible Study, and has performed in the church passion play. Proceeds from the play are donated to local charities. Various service projects completed for the church are insulating the ceiling, assisting to replace the patio floor and helping fellow Scouts clean the church kitchen for use by Meals On Wheels.

Zachary attends North Hills Senior High School where he is a Junior. He was enrolled in CIS in his Sophomore year and held highest honors throughout all of that year. He belongs to the Latin club where he attends meetings, goes on outings, and does service projects. In 2006 he took the National Latin Exam and earned the Maxima Cum Laude (Silver) honorable merit. In 2007, he was awarded the Suma Cum Laude (Gold) and was also inducted into the Latin Honor Society.

Zachary is presently the Publications Chairman responsible for The Enda Arrowman. Zachary is a licensed ham radio operator and president of the North Hills Ham Radio Club. Through this club he works at North Hills Monterelli Stadium assisting with the scoreboard for soccer, lacrosse, and football games. In 2007, Zachary was inducted into the National Honor Society and volunteers as much time as he can with the Honor Society.
