Dan Chapa

Dan Chapa began is Scouting career as a parent helper for Troop 877, Plum Creek Presbyterian Church in 1996 and later became an Assistant Scoutmaster in 1997. He completed Scoutmaster Fundamentals and many other programs offered by the district for new scout leaders at the University of Scouting.

Dan then served as Scoutmaster of Troop 877 from 1998 through 2003 transforming the Troop into viable well-structured organization for Scouts and adults through the use of The Woods Wisdom concepts.

During this time, Dan also completed his Wood Badge training along with serving as a merit badge counselor for Indian Lore, First Aid, Emergency Preparedness, Home Repairs, Rifle Shooting, and Environmental Science.

Dan has also served as a Campmaster for Twin Echo assisting with the setup of multiple Klondike Derby and other seasonal events. He went on to be an instructor for over two years in the Scoutmaster Fundamentals course teaching both the indoor and outdoor programs.

Dan regularly attends District Roundtables, volunteers with the setup of many District events, dealing with Indian Lore and/or native American concepts, many First Aid and Emergency Preparedness programs and participated in many events dealing with merit badge programs.

After completing his term as Scoutmaster in 2004, Dan spent a year as Committee Chair for Troop 877. Over the next three years Dan served as the Medical Officer for Heritage Reservation, Summer Camp, and also an Advisor for large for OA personnel and programs.
